The aussiehome.com portal will continue, and the company will offer its web design services to all REIWA members, which comprises most real estate agencies in WA. The two organizations will also produce internet marketing seminars and training courses for REIWA members.

“The alliance brings together the best elements of each organization’s web services for the benefit of REIWA members, homebuyers and sellers. Both aussiehome.com and reiwa.com are delighted with the alliance”, said Anne Arnold, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of WA.

Charlie Gunningham, aussiehome.com Director is looking forward to the closer relationship with reiwa.com. “Up until now, our web sites have had their own distinct geographical areas but now the reiwa.com site can complete its site with coverage of the premium property market. REIWA is signalling its intent in the online real estate space, as a significant player in all market sectors.

“The Internet is a central element in the marketing of real estate. As competition in the online real estate industry intensifies, property portals will look to strengthen their respective positions by forging alliances”, said Mr Gunningham. 

Recent statistics for Australia show that 80% of home buyers use the Internet in their search, with WA real estate agencies reporting that 30% of their sales come off the web, and about 80% of available rentals are snapped up from internet enquiries.

REIWA is the peak representative body for real estate agents in Western Australia, a not for profit member association, which also runs the reiwa.com web site. It has 880 real estate agency offices as members. Aussiehome.com is a private company based in Nedlands, with 140 agency offices as clients in WA.
